About

I’m Bec, a craftswoman and woodcarver based in Montrose Scotland.  I’ve always had a deep desire to create, and working with my hands has always felt like meditation in motion for me. Each piece I make starts in the woods, where I use greenwood from local storm fallen trees, hand tools and traditional methods to carve items that are beautiful, long lasting, and functional. Inspired by Scandinavian folk art I love decorating my utensils and wares with bright colours and chip carved patterns, creating pieces that feel joyful and contemporary while remaining rooted in tradition. Alongside my woodwork, I also make hand bound brushes and brooms from natural fibres, crafted to be both practical and beautiful.  At its heart, my work is about connection, between maker and material, tradition and modern life and the natural world and spaces we live in.
